What’s Madam?
Madam hosts hands-on workshops that help people reconnect with their uninhibited childhood creativity, through the lens of grown up taste and humour.
Think of it as an arts and crafts lab run by Mary Poppins and Morticia Addams: absurd ideas meet unconventional materials. It’s warm, irreverent, funny, inclusive, and cathartic.
We actively shun usefulness, skill, and talent. The workshops are designed to draw in even the most craft-averse, turning making into laughter and connection, giving back to people a piece of themselves they might’ve lost touch with along the way.
How does it work?
We start with an idea - absurd, wicked, unexpected. Protective monsters. Sweary boundaries. Christmas baubles with a twist.
Then we pick materials that suit it: foam clay, glitter, embroidery thread, more glitter, upcycled tree leaves, downcycled rusty nails… whatever makes it happen. Et voilà.
Sessions are guided enough that no one’s left floundering, but open enough for surprise, play, and sideways thinking. All materials are provided, the atmosphere is low-pressure, the tone deliberately offbeat.
Workshops are mobile and flexible, adapting to timing, group size, and energy, whether you want pure fun, a creative reset, or a hefty dose mindful weirdness.
Who’s behind it?
Agathe Cury, enchantée.
That’s not me on the picture, I don’t look that French.
I’m known worldwide for screwing up any art project I start. “Signature” knots and holes in anything I craft, multiple needle scars on my fingers, and I have been recently told that I “shouldn’t draw, it’s really unsettling” (see self-portrait right there).
Before Madam, I founded and ran a creative agency. Whenever I needed offsite activities for my teams, I struggled to find anything that felt truly creative and entertaining. After burning out from that high-pressure role, I started looking for workshops to attend. But again, I couldn’t find anything that felt right.
What I longed for were sessions where laughing mattered more than learning, that could bring me back to a childish kind of creativity, yet still tap into my grown-up humour and tastes.
They say if you can’t find the way, create one, so I did. That’s how Madam was born.
And because I’ve lived both sides - as the organiser hunting for the right experience, and as the creator designing it - Madam is never chaos for chaos’ sake. Every workshop is carefully designed, adapted to your constraints, with seamless logistics and the option for bespoke events.
